Customization Groups and Customization
Options in QRkey Systems allow you to offer personalized choices and
enhancements to your menu items, enhancing the dining experience for your
customers. This comprehensive guide provides step-by-step instructions for
creating these groups and options, highlighting mandatory fields, optional
details, best practices, and their impact on your restaurant operations.
Segment: Customization Setup
Creating a Customization Group:
Visit the main Menu Drawer on the QRkey
Dashboard.
Navigate to Entity Settings.
Click on Customization Product Option.
Click the Create Customization Product Icon
(+ Icon).
A pop-up will appear with various fields.
Locate the "Addon Groups" field
and click "Add New."
In the new popup, insert your chosen Addon
Group (Customization Group) name (e.g., Addons, Portion Size, Best Served With,
etc.) and click "Create Addon Group."
Creating a Customization Item:
Under Product Customization, you will find
several fields:
Customization Name (Internal Reference,
Mandatory):
This is the internal name for the
customization item, which can be a combination of your customization item name
and the menu item name where it will be applied. This helps in easier
identification.
Customization Display Name (Display
Name, Mandatory):
This is the name that will be displayed on
customer ordering and aggregator platforms.
Product Name (Mandatory):
Select the product under which you wish this
customization group and customization item to be mapped.
Addon Group (Mandatory):
Select either an existing Customization
Group name or the one you created earlier. This is the header (customisation group)
under which this customization item will be listed.
Customization Type (Mandatory):
There are three customization types
configurable on QRkey Systems:
Size: For
setting up portion sizes (e.g., Half and Full Portion).
Product:
When a core menu item is also used as an addon product (e.g., Coke 600 ml).
Custom: To
create custom addons (e.g., a specific side dish served with a main menu item).
Customization Product Name (Required for
"Product" Type Only):
This field is required only when the
customization type is "Product"; otherwise, it can be left blank.
Customization Price (Mandatory):
Define the price to be added to the bill
when a customer selects this addon item along with the base product. This is the
price of the addon, and it can be "0" for products served as free
accompaniments. Ensure that the custom price aligns with your pricing strategy.

Sort Order (Mandatory):
Assign a sequence for listing the
Customization Item. Lower sequence numbers prioritize higher listing.
Mark the Customization as Active
(Mandatory):
Ensure this option is marked as active to
make the customization item available for selection.
Best Practices:
Use clear and descriptive customization
names and display names.
Ensure that customization prices align with
your pricing strategy.
